TERMS & CONDITIONS
By placing your order you are agreeing to the terms and conditions set out below. Use of any functionality of elstonandson.co.uk constitutes acceptance of the Terms and Conditions.
Any personal information provided by you is confidential and will not be passed on to any other companies or organisations not affiliated with our online business.
Elston & Son reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions without notice at any time. Your continued use of this site after changes are posted will constitute your acceptance of the changes to these Terms.
You must be aged 18 or over to purchase alcohol. It is an offence to sell alcohol to anyone under the age of 18 in the UK. When ordering and making a payment you will be required to confirm that you are aged 18 or over.
If your order is a gift and contains alcohol, the recipient must also be aged 18 years or older. An adult over the age of 18 will be required to sign for delivery.
We aim to ensure the prices shown are correct. If an error does occur, we will make every effort to contact you to confirm if you would like to proceed with the order at the correct price.
While every effort is made to supply all items listed online, there are instances where this may not be possible. In these cases, we will contact you and offer a substitute with the same or greater value.
We reserve the right to withdraw or replace products online without notice.
Images on our website are for illustrative purposes only and products and their packaging may vary slightly from their images.
We make every effort to ensure that the information on this website is correct. However, Elston & Son takes no responsibility and shall not be held liable for any information relating to a third party that is incomplete, inaccurate, or out of date.
Even where your payment is accepted by our systems, no contract shall exist until Elston & Son have dispatched the items to you.
Elston & Son will not be held responsible for any loss, consequential loss or damage to any individual or business which may have occurred from the use (or misuse) of any product, or any information contained on this website.
Payment can only be made using credit/debit cards through Stripe. Apple Pay is available when using Safari. Payments are processed via Stripe. Google Pay is also available, payments processed by Stripe. We cannot take orders by phone or email.
Card payments are made through a secure server. Elston & Son does not store your financial details. Your personal details are not passed to any third party.
Payment will be taken at the time of ordering.
SHIPPING AND RETURNS
FREE UK SHIPPING on all orders over £100 to UK Mainland addresses, LOCAL DELIVERY (small charge of £2.50) to these postcodes BA6, BA16, TA10-15) or FREE Click and Collect from our warehouse in South Petherton, Somerset (details below).
Standard UK Mainland Delivery costs £6.95 for next day delivery.
We require a full postcode and mobile telephone number for every order.
We use Parcelforce to deliver your order from the heart of the West Country directly to your doorstep, fridge or drinks cabinet across the UK.
All our orders are shipped using Parcelforce’s 24-hour Express service. Orders placed by 15.00 Monday-Friday are usually picked up that day and delivered to you the next working day- we don’t currently offer Saturday deliveries as the cost is too prohibitive. Orders placed after 15.00 will be picked up the following working day.
If an order contains Cheese, in order to ensure it reaches you in the best condition we won’t send it out on a Friday, so it doesn’t sit at a Parcelforce depot over the weekend. We will keep it refrigerated until we pack it on Monday ready for delivery to you on Tuesday.
Elston and Son will provide you with tracking information. If you have any special delivery instructions, please write these in the Order Comments box in the checkout. Parcelforce will follow these instructions where possible. You will be able to track your drivers progress on either the website or by downloading the Parcelforce app. The app will allow you to set your delivery preferences if you will not be in to receive your parcel- we highly recommend you do this as Parcelforce cannot leave a parcel if no one is in and they have not had notification of where to leave the parcel from you.
Shipping to other areas of the United Kingdom
Shipping to the Highlands and Islands of Scotland (postcodes IV, HS, KA27-28, KW, PA20-49, PA60-78, PH17- 26, PH30-44, PH49-50, ZE, AB31, AB33-38, AB45, AB52-56, FK17-21) and Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and Isles of Scilly (postcodes BT, IM, TR21-25) costs £15.
Unfortunately, we are currently unable to ship to the Channel Islands.
You can select Local Delivery if you live in the right postcode (currently BA6, BA16, TA10-15) at Checkout. We make a small charge (£2.50) for this service. We will contact you to arrange a suitable time to deliver, typically the next day. We reserve the right to make changes to the areas we deliver to.
Click and Collect
You can select Free Click and Collect at Checkout. We will contact to let you know when your order is ready for collection. If your order is placed during working hours (9-5) it will typically be ready for collection within a couple of hours. You can collect the order at your convenience during working hours so long as we have confirmed it is ready for you. Our warehouse address is

Unfortunately, we are currently unable to ship outside of the United Kingdom.
All our orders are packed with the greatest of care in specialist boxes to ensure that they always arrive in tip-top condition ready to be enjoyed by you.
We use environmentally friendly packaging where possible and minimal use of plastic.
Our West Country cheese is packed in Woolcool, a natural environmentally friendly insulation made from felted sheep’s wool which is totally compostable and biodegradable. We use Sorbafreeze to keep it perfectly chilled just like a West Country surfer
In the unlikely event of an order arriving damaged due to courier mishandling, we will provide a refund for the damaged item. If your delivery were to arrive damaged, please contact us and send us a photograph of the packaging and broken contents and we will arrange for a refund or where practical a replacement.
Unfortunately we are unable to accept returns of cheese or other perishable goods.
If you have changed your mind about an order please contact us through the returns portal https://track.shipstation.com/f/r/h/91wxSc3jSYkdpllA9g3PMw%3D%3D on Elston and Son’s website within 14 days of receiving your order.
Items must be returned in their original condition and packaging within 14 days of receipt of delivery to receive a refund. Ensuring the safe return of the package will be the responsibility of the customer.
The cost of postage will be deducted from your refund. The charge for this service is £7.50.
We regret that due to the artisan nature of our products which are created to be consumed fresh we are unable to offer a refund after 14 days or without using the returns portal on Elston and Son’s website
Cookies help us provide you with a better website, by enabling us to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us.
Cookies are also used in the functioning of the online store section of our site, by keeping track of information you enter into the site (products chosen, delivery address etc) so that it can be passed onto us to generate your order.

Elston & Son is committed to protecting the privacy of our site visitors and customers. We will not disclose information about our customers to third parties except where it is part of providing a service to you - e.g. arranging for a product to be sent to you, carrying out credit and other security checks or where we have your express permission to do so. We will not sell your name, address, e-mail address, credit card information or personal information to any third party (excluding partners from whom you may have linked to our site) without your expressed permission.
These Terms and Conditions shall be subject to and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England. Our failure to enforce a right does not amount to waiver of it.
Cutting and weights
All cheeses are hand cut to order by our specialist cheesemongers. Due to the Artisan nature of our cheeses, all weights referred to on the Elston & Son website are guidelines, and there may be some fluctuations around those guideline weights. We are unable to offer refunds for complaints arising from reasonable variations from stipulated guideline weights. However, we will always endeavour to deliver packages as close as possible to our guideline weights.
