A bold, tart, fruity gin. An opportunity to forage damsons from the heavily laden boughs of trees sitting within a local Dartmoor farm led to this bold, tart and fruity gin. The bold, tart fruit is balanced by a touch of vanilla, cardamom and ground almonds, with a heart of juniper. Named Double Damson because the gin is first distilled and then infused with handpicked Dartmoor damsons.
Serve with a good tonic and ice.
Papillon Dartmoor Distillery is the first of its kind within the Dartmoor National Park. Adam and Claire, the owners and distillers, both grew up here and enjoy sharing its special qualities through their small-batch gin. They named the Distillery Papillon because they donate 1% from every bottle to a local Butterfly Conservation project, and volunteer with them surveying/monitoring fritillaries in their local area on Dartmoor.
