The 2020 Late Season Blend from Smith Hayne is a medium sweet, naturally sparkling keeved (83% keeved & 17% non-keeved) cider in the Normandy style made from late harvested apples. The cider is autumnal, juicy and rich, and is delicious with savoury food. It was naturally fermented in neutral oak and stainless steel. Apple varieties: Dabinett 41%, Harry Masters Jersey18%, Chisel Jersey 12.5%, Porters Perfection 16%, Browns 5%, Yarlington Mill 3.5%, and Tremletts Bitter, Fill Barrel, Sweet Coppin and Michelin together.
Smith Hayne is a small batch producer in mid-Devon run by Will & Anna. The Smith Hayne farm dates back to the 1300s but the orchards had been lost over the years (as is all too common in the southwest) but were replanted in the 1970s.
