Single variety cider made from the classic Somerset bittersweet cider apple discovered by William Dabinett of Somerset, this is one of the most popular varieties of cider apple, producing a consistently high quality and rounded cider. Hecks Dabinett is medium dry, full bodied, with a fruity astringency.
The Hecks family have been making traditional farmhouse cider in Somerset for six generations, since 1841. In 1896, they started to sell their cider from the farm shop in Street, where they are still based. They make their ciders and perrys by blending juice from apples and pears all grown locally in the family’s orchards. To read more about Hecks and its heritage click here to see our blog.
