A single variety Keeved Cider in a very limited run of 200 bottles. This is the first time Hecks have produced a Keeved Brown's, chosen as Brown's typically produces great quality crops with a sharp, clean and fresh tasting juice. The ancient method of keeving is a way to produce a naturally sweet Cider or Perry by causing the fermentation to stop early by starving the yeast of its nutrients. This creates a sweeter, lower alcohol product with a lovely fruity character.
The Hecks family have been making traditional farmhouse cider in Somerset for six generations, since 1841. In 1896, they started to sell their cider from the farm shop in Street, where they are still based. They make their ciders and perrys by blending juice from apples and pears all grown locally in the family’s orchards. To read more about Hecks and its heritage click here to see our blog.
